Anthropologie Opens At Whitman Mall

The trendy home and clothing store opens a third Long Island location in Huntington Station.

Last Friday marked the opening of the newest addition to the Walt Whitman Shops — Anthropologie.

Known as a lifestyle store, the mall's most modern location offers a variety of items including clothes, shoes, accessories, books and home decor.

Sporting one of the larger storefronts at , the new store is easily distinguishable with its modern window display and ceiling-high green wall showing the store's name. The inside is full, but spacious as well.

First opened in Wayne, Penn., in 1992, the franchise has expanded to hundreds of locations throughout the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom, according to the company's website

Other Long Island locations include Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City and in Greenvale on Northern Boulevard.

Since opening in Huntington Station June 22, the store has received lots of traffic, according to a store manager.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. 

on a mall renovation project that will eventually introduce 11 new stores and restaurants encompassing a total of 72,000 square feet of additional retail space at the mall, owned by the Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group.

The mall project is expected to be completed in 2013.
