First Saturday Concert “The Kennedys”:  Saturday April 2, 7:30 p.m., Open Mike, 8:30 p.m. Concert

Details:  This cutting edge hip-folk couple wields plugged-in acoustic guitars, but Folk Music Society of Huntington audiences, like those across the nation, have quickly figured out that Pete and Maura Kennedy defy the stereotypical notion of folk.

Seaweed, Slime and Squish:  Saturday April 2, 2:00 p.m.
Location:  Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, 279 Main St, Rte 25A, Cold Spring Harbor
Details:  Touch local species of seaweed found in the Sound, and create your own batch of slime to take home. Ages 5-12.

Walking with Whitman: Poetry in Performance Series:  Sunday April 3, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Details:  A series of performances and presentations by some of the most intriguing figures in contemporary literature and the arts on the national scene.

Maritime Music Special Event:  Sunday April 3, 1:00 p.m. Concert 2:00 p.m.
Location:  Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, 279 Main St, Rte 25A, Cold Spring Harbor
Details:  Try fun sound experiments & create your own noisemaker to take home.  At 2:00 p.m., enjoy live nautical tunes & sea shanties by the band Sampawam's Creek.

Ljova and the Kontraband:   Sunday April 3, 2:30 p.m.
Location:  423 Park Avenue, Huntington
Details:  Chamber-jam music for the "remix generation". As if by alchemy, Eastern-European and Gypsy melodies, Latin rhythms, Jazz-inspired improvisations, and deeply rooted Classical forms are given new meanings in original compositions that fearlessly forge a new direction, with a nostalgic gaze towards the past.  Guest Artists: Premik Russell Tubbs and students Mikah Feldman-Stein (age 17) & Jonathan Bodian (age 13).  Wine and cheese reception follows show.
