Long Island's Best Holiday Lights

Patch judged the best holiday light displays in communities across Long Island. Here are the winners.

What kept the Long Island night blindingly bright in a face of a lunar eclipse? Your neighbor's holiday lights, of course.

Love them or hate them, you cannot deny their mesmerizing power. Surely LIPA can attest. These staples of suburban living are a December holiday tradition. And they do more than brighten up front lawns, stoops and rooftops. They inspire child-like wonder.

Patch judged the best holiday light displays in communities across Long Island. Here are our high-watt winners.

The sailboats, are just that, sailboats. Very nice and simple, but does not compare to some of the other homes which are completely decorated and not only lovely to see, but make you feel good as well.

Sail boats in Cutchogue! They're all winners, but creativity, affordability & fun depicted in a quality photo gets my vote.

Like goldilocks said not to little not to much, just right. That's why I'm voting for Crescent Beach Road in Glen Cove. Just enough to be the best providing nice symmetry. I see the house often, although nice, what this photo doesn't show is one of the highlights of the display which are the two large scale christmas trains circling the navity scene, which all the kids love. There is also beautiful music. My vote is for Glen Cove.

The house on Crescent Beach Rd. in Glen Cove gets my vote. It is not overly decorated like some houses I've seen. It has just the right amount of decorations and lights.
