Art, Music, Races: Huntington's Busy Week

As summer turns to fall, festivals join the lineup of activities.

It's a busy week that starts out slowly but picks up steam through the weekend, with something for everyone.

Here are just a few events happening this week.

Monday: It's Rosh Hashanah so public schools are closed Monday and Tuesday. The Long Island Sierra Club meets at the Huntington Public Library, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"huntington-public-library-station-branch-4"} -->, Huntington Station branch, at 7 p.m., and the library is showing , organist will be providing live music for a showing of The Wind, a 1928 film starring Lillian Gish, at 7:30 p.m. The All-American Rejects and Boys Like Girls are performing at 8 p.m. at the , starting at 10 a.m. The gets underway at 11 a.m.  So does the , features drawing activities for kids, starting at noon.
