Mark Rothman at Book Revue

Mark Rothman, writer and producer of Lavern & Shirley, will speak about and sign his new book “Mark Rothman's Essays” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Book Revue.

Rothman is best known for having been involved with the creation and production of Laverne and Shirley. He was also the head writer and show runner of other shows, including “Happy Days” and “The Odd Couple.”

He has written screenplays and several plays, two of them, “The Wearing of the Greens,” and “Who Wants Fame?,” have been well-received by audiences and critics from coast-to-coast. He splits his time between residences in Malibu, Connecticut, and Detroit. He enjoys producing and directing his work. In the spring of 2008, he appeared in the title role of a new musical, “The Brain From Planet X” in Los Angeles, where he and the show received unanimous raves.
