Dancing to the Poetry of Music: Lute Music at Cinema Arts

Lutenist Christopher Morrongiello of Old Bethpage returns to Cinema Arts Centre with the Venere Lute Quartet, with dancing by the New York Historical Dance Company.

Experience the beauty and majesty of Renaissance lute music and dance as the Venere Lute Quartet and The New York Historical Dance Company present a program from the age of Shakespeare, Rubens, and Galileo.

Works from Italian Renaissance sources and the Dutch Thysius manuscript, which reflects the international spirit of the time, will be performed. Different syles of dance will be performed along with reflective music.

Those attending may participate in the spirit of the time -- several simple Renaissance dances will be taught at the end of the program.
