Kick off the holiday weekend and kick up your heels with all your Big Band and swing favorites performed by the Something Special Big Band. The group features 17 musicians and a vocalist, many of whom have played with the great swing bands, including Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton and Count Basie. The band plays a variety of music from nostalgia to contemporary swing but is best know for its exciting Basie style.
Registration for the program is closed but you do not need a ticket to watch from the upper-level lawn, but bring a blanket or chair. If it rains, the concert will be in the theater.
