Jam Packed Weekend Lineup On Tap

Chris Isaak, Howard Jones, Fuel, Filter and Summer Arts Festival events set stage for three big days of summer entertainment in Huntington.

1. Weekend Summer Arts Festival Lineup: All shows start at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free:

  • July 6: All-girl Indie pop band BETTY from New York City, will perform a wild, memorable and boundary-pushing live show. They will perform tunes featured on hit television series like Weeds, NBC’s Love Bites, Ugly Betty, The L Word and more. 
  • July 7: "The Producers": Presented by Plaza Theatrical Productions and the , Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom sing and dance their way through the greatest show biz scam that there ever was.
  • July 8: Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra: Under the direction of Maestro Lou Panacciulli, the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra will perform your musical favorites from Broadway, television and the movies. 

2. Paramount Concerts:

  • July 6: Filter/Fuel: Filter has sold more than 3.5 million albums in the U.S. and scored a trio of top 5 singles, “Shimmer,” “Innocent” and “Hemorrhage (In My Hands”), the latter of which remained at No. 1 for 12 weeks. In addition, Fuel has sold out tours all over the world, headlining venues and opening for bands including Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Creed and 3 Doors Down. Showtime 8 p.m. Details
  • July 7: Howard Jones: Anyone who was around in the mid to late 80s will remember Howard Jones' high-energy gigs and English-song writing style. Showtime 8 p.m. Details
  • July 8: Chris Isaak: Singing tunes from his recently-released beyong The Sun album, Isaak newest record is a labor of love. As a child spinning his parents 45s in their Stockton, Calif., home, this Isaac has been obsessed with the glory days of Memphis' Sun Studio and the visionary artists who got their starts there—including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis—all of them discovered and nurtured by the late, great Sun Records founder Sam Phillips. Now, at long last, Isaak has acted on this lifelong obsession, magically recapturing the transformative hepcat brilliance of the classic sides cut by these greats at Sun with Phillips during the mid-'50s. Showtime 8 p.m. Details

3. At The Book Revue: Lawyer and Author Anthony V. Curto will speak about and sign his new book, "The Time For Justice," at the July 8 at 4 p.m.

4. Art Show: "Landscapes of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge": Rosalie Frost’s photographs reveal the unique habitats lying within the urban situated wildlife refuge in southern Queens county, will be on display at the Fotofoto Gallery, located at 14 W. Carver St. Hours are: Friday 5-8 p.m., Saturday 12-8 p.m. and Sunday 12-4 p.m. Opening reception is Saturday from 5-7 p.m.

5. The Funnyman Show Starring Alice Adler: Educational children's show at  Saturday at 10 a.m. which goes through the process of becoming a clown. A sprinkling of magic is also part of the act with a live rabbit who does tricks and who all the children get to pet at the end of the show. Admission is free.
