Weather Storms Huntington Harbor

Afternoon thunderstorm Thursday could be the first round of intense weather headed toward Long Island.

Severe weather is headed toward Long Island later Thursday, but a localized thunderstorm rained down on Huntington around 1:30 p.m.

Roadways swelled with runoff and bustling Huntington Harbor fell still except for rain hitting the water.  

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Suffolk County from noon Thursday to Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
