VIDEO: Centerport's Poker Playing Dog
Known worldwide, Jilli Dog is one of America's best show dogs.
Not many Huntington residents can say they've sat at a poker table with Bette Midler or Kelly Ripa — but Jilli Dog has.
One of America's greatest show dogs and four-legged poker players, Jilli resides in Centerport with owner, Rick Caran.
Caran, a longtime resident and a columnist for Yorky Club Magazine found Jilli about nine years ago lost and abandoned on the street with no collar, no tags, dirty and hungry.

"Since then, Jilli and I have been inseparable. I started working with her, training her with little bits of cheese. We started with the basics— sit, stay, give me your paw," said Caran on the website jillidog.com. "It didn't take long for me to realize that Jilli was an exceptionally smart little dog."
Voted New York's Most Talented Dog in 2009 at the pre-Westinster Fashion Show and Gala, Jilli has appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly, Animal Planet, the Disney Channel and numerous shows worldwide.
