A Smithtown resident has reached out to share her public thanks to all members of the Kings Park Volunteer Fire Department for their efforts to aide her husband.

Donna Del Vecchio, wrote this letter to Patch, thanking all those who responded to a 911 on July 16 for her husband, Michael, who later died. He was 53.

Globecomm Sold To Private Manhattan Equity Firm

After considering a sale for over two years, Hauppauge-based GlobeComm was sold recently to a Manhattan private equity firm.

According to Newsday, the sale to Wasserstein & Co. came at $14.15 per share, totaling close to $340 million.

An information booth is coming to Northport Village, Deputy Mayor Henry Tobin announced Monday.

The kiosk will provide residents and visitors with information what they can find in town, upcoming events, local organizations and share Northport history.
