Festival Packs a Punch for Pickle Lovers

A train, hotdogs, music, a corn maze and of course pickles were among the attractions at Saturday's 34th annual pickle festival in Huntington.

Pickle vendors brought their wares and festival goers sampled and bought their favorites, which range from the bread and butter pickles to thos eused in Bloody Marys or featured jalapeno flavorings. Various foods that could be brined, such as beets, were also available.

Hundreds of pickle lovers attended the festival, sponsored by the Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Association at the historic John Gardiner Farm on  Park Avenue.

A centerpiece of the festival was the restored Lollipop train, once a major attraction in the 1950s and 1960s in Syosset.
