Arsenal Re-Dedicated by Town Officials

Extensive project restores Colonial-era building.

Culminating an extensive restoration project, the Town of Huntington dedicated the newly-restored Arsenal May 6.

Marking the completion of the $179,705 project to replaced a deteriorated roof, transform the back half of the building to Colonial-era condition and upgrade access to the building, the upgrades exposed the original frame timbers, ceiling beams, ceiling boards, and floor boards, according to a town press release.

The restoration project was funded by the Town and by a $49,300 historic preservation grant from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
