Huntington Candidate Mosden: Top District Issue

School board candidates cite top issues for districts.

Patch asked candidates for the Huntington and South Huntington school boards to identify the most important issue facing the district.

Jennifer Mosden, who is hoping to fill one of two openings on the Huntington board in Tuesday's election, gave this response:

The most pressing issue facing the Huntington School District is how to best use all of our district’s resources to promote excellence during a time in which economic conditions are unstable and changing NYS mandates are impacting school district operations.
As a member of the Board of Education, I would seek to identify efficiencies, streamline operations, use my financial management expertise to make better use of our capital budget for projects that have a direct impact on education.  I also believe that children have individualized learning approaches and we should provide opportunities that meet the diverse needs of our district.
