Golf Outing to Benefit Abrams School

Hi-Lume, celebrating anniversary, will honor Huntington school superintendent.

A golf outing to celebrate a company's anniversary will also benefit the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School.

Jim Sutherland, president of Hi-Lume Corp. in Huntington Station, is leading the company's 50th anniversary golf outing Thursday at Wheatley Hills Golf Club in East Williston.  Hi-Lume is part of the Sutherland Building Group.

The company will honor Huntington Superintendent James W. Polansky with
its  "Building A Better Community" Award.

"As part of our belief in 'paying it forward,' we are  pleased to have this celebratory Golf Outing also serve as a benefit for the new STEM Magnet School
in Huntington Station," Sutherland wrote in the invitation to the outing.

The Abrams building, closed to students for three years, reopened in September as a magnet school focusing on science, technology, engineering and math.
