Townwide Fund of Huntington's Annual Thanksgiving Day Run

The Townwide Fund of Huntington encourages all area runners to make sure to register for the 28th Annual Four Mile Thanksgiving Day Run, which starts at the American Legion Post 360 in Halesite on Thursday, November 28nd.  The 1K Fun Run begins at 8:30 AM and the Four Mile Run begins at 9:00 AM.

The Townwide Fund extends its thanks to Long Island Land Rover Centres which has supported the Townwide Fund’s Thanksgiving Day Run for more than nine years.  Long Island Land Rover Centres provides the TWF with the official pace car and driver, volunteers and runners in addition to their financial support at the “Name” sponsor.  This year, companion dealer Jaguar is also part of the automotive sponsorship.  Their support, on-the-ground efforts and generosity are greatly appreciated.

Super Runners Shop in Huntington is the location for the pre-race registration and T-shirt pick up point. For over twenty-six years Super Runners Shop has been a dedicated sponsor, providing all of the awards for the Four Mile Run and serving as a great resource for the Thanksgiving runners.

“We couldn’t do it without the support of our sponsors, volunteers and every member of the community who has made this annual event such a part of the Huntington Thanksgiving tradition,” said Bea Hartigan, who has organized the Townwide Fund Fall and St. Patrick’s runs since at least 1982 and is known throughout Huntington for her leadership role in the races.

 
Due to reduced parking availability, runners are advised to take Wall Street/West Shore Road north from Main Street (25-A) and park at the ball fields of Mill Dam Park.
