A work crew was knocking down the derelict Sitar restaurant Thursday morning.
The vacant building has been a sore point for residents who complained about the poor condition of the abandoned building on West Jericho Turnpike whose roof was partially caved in.
Stephen R. Preuss of Massey Knakal Realty Services who is handling the sale of the site, told Patch at the end of September that the building would be demolished within about two months.
