Dr. Sheldon Karnilow, Neighbor

This is my 10th year as Superintendent. The community has special significance for me as I lived here for 26 years and raised my two sons here. It has been very exciting to come back to this community and help it to reach its full potential. Before serving as Superintendent in half Hollow Hills, I was an Assistant Superintendent in Port Washington. Previous to that, I served as principals both in the New York City Schools and in Merrick. Additionally, I have taught at the university level. I am very proud of the personal relationship that I have been able to develop with staff, students, parents and the community-at-large. It is tremendously gratifying to work in partnership with a dedicated, supportive and caring Board of Education.
