Hitting the Pavement for St. Patrick's Run

Huntington Townwide Fund runs bring out competitors and those seeking fun.

A fun run and a competitive four-mile race brought about 400 participants out for the Townwide Fund's St. Patrick run Saturday in Huntington. Dustin Emrani, 26, of Great Neck won overall with a time of 21 minutes, 31 seconds, followed by Brendan Keegan, of Huntington Station at 21 minutes, 34 seconds.  Runners in the competitive race ranged in age from 7 (Ethan Radecki, who finished 194th) to 78 (Geza Feld of Farmingdale who finished 160th). A team of girls from Commack won the high school challenge segment of the four-mile race. A family fun run preceded the competitive race. The run is a benefit for the Townwide Fund, which works with more than 20 Huntington charitable organizations to assist those in need. Race director Bea Hartigan …

You can buy a rainbarrel at the East Northport "Walking for Water" event starting at 8:30. 5. If you must stay indoors but still want some exercise, there's always dancing at the South Huntington Public Library.

20 charities get boost from donation.

The Townwide Fund of Huntington recently presented a check for more than $100,000 to 20 charities. Townwide Fund's Thanksgiving Day Run

Hundreds join in race and a fun run.

Racers, walkers and their fans turned out in Thursday morning's cold for a fun run and 4-mile race sponsored by the Townwide Fund. From children still learning to walk to seniors, participants ran or walked, or in some cases, were carried, on their course along Mill Dam Road. Results.

The Townwide Fund of Huntington's Annual Thanksgiving Day Race and Fun Run

While most people are dreaming of turkey and pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving Day, hundreds of runners of every age and ability will be gathering at the American Legion Hall in Halesite to participate in the Townwide Fund of Huntington's Annual Thanksgiving Day 4 Mile Race and 1K Fun Run. The Townwide Fund of Huntington is approaching its 50th anniversary of helping its member agencies raise money to help residents of Huntington through some difficult times. The Thanksgiving Day Run has become one of their most successful fundraising events. Last year they raised close to $23,000 with over 1,300 runners crossing the finish line.
