Huntington Townwide Fund runs bring out competitors and those seeking fun.
A fun run and a competitive four-mile race brought about 400 participants out for the Townwide Fund's St. Patrick run Saturday in Huntington. Dustin Emrani, 26, of Great Neck won overall with a time of 21 minutes, 31 seconds, followed by Brendan Keegan, of Huntington Station at 21 minutes, 34 seconds. Runners in the competitive race ranged in age from 7 (Ethan Radecki, who finished 194th) to 78 (Geza Feld of Farmingdale who finished 160th). A team of girls from Commack won the high school challenge segment of the four-mile race. A family fun run preceded the competitive race. As Christmas draws near, churches are scheduling their special services.
With the holiday season here and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fast approaching, churches are getting ready for special services. "Christmas is the major feast day of Christian tradition so I am very much looking forward to celebrating my first Christmas at St. John's and in Huntington this year, having been here only 3 ½ months," said the Rev.
