Police Searching For iPhone Thief

Cops say iPhone stolen from South Huntington store in March.

Police are searching for a man who stole an iPhone from the Apple Store at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington. According to police, the male suspect in his late 20s stole a white AT&T 4S iPhone out of a display at the Whitman Mall store March 7 at about 3:55 p.m.  A cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest is being offered by police. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, according to police.

Police Searching for Larceny Suspect

Woman uses stolen credit card for mall purchases.

Police are searching for a suspect who used stolen credit cards to make purchases at the Whitman Mall in February. A woman reported to police that her purse, with credit cards inside, was stolen Feb. 20 in Huntington. Police say, an unknown black female was caught on surveillance video making unauthorized purchases in Bloomingdale’s and Macy's department stores with the stolen credit cards.  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, according to police.

Police Get Videotapes for Shooting Investigation

The owner of the apartment building near the site where three men were shot in Huntington Station said Monday that he had handed over videotapes to police who are investigating the case. Suffolk County police said the three victims, Devon White, 18, Darius Howard, 16, and Philip Perez, 22, were sitting in a car near the Lincoln Farms Apartments about 3:15 p.m. when a large group of men surrounded the vehicle and two of them shot into the car. Sgt. Richard Auspaker said Monday the three “have affiliations” to gangs and the crime is believed to be gang-related. He said the department is investigating several leads in the case. Howard was released from Huntington Hospital Monday, while the other two are in stable condition, the hospital said…
