Photos: LI Photowalk Visits Caumsett State Park

Long Island Photowalk descends upon Caumsett State Historic Park in Lloyd Harbor.

It was a blustery and overcast Saturday, but that didn't keep Long Island Photowalk from descending upon Caumsett State Historic Park in Lloyd Harbor. Photographers whose images were judged the highest 2009 Tulip Festival photo contest were honored at the January 12, 2010 Town Board meeting.

Those who braved near freezing temperatures to attend the Jan. 12th Huntington Town Board meeting were treated to a tantalizing taste of spring as Councilman Mark Cuthbertson and the Board honored the winners of the ninth annual Tulip Festival Photo Contest. The Tulip Festival—which marks the dazzling debut of thousands of brightly colored floral harbingers of spring—is a highly anticipated event which attracts visitors from across Long Island and beyond. Founded by Cuthbertson in 2001, the day of free, family-friendly fun recalls the tulip festivals that the councilman enjoyed while attending law school in Albany. The photo contest, which has always been part of the event, invites professional and amateur photographers alike to capture …
