If the Harborfields football team can continue to play the way they have played in their past two games, Division III better watch out. The Tornadoes improved to 2-3 on the season after dominating the East Hampton Bonackers Saturday afternoon, 33-0. Harborfields has outscored its opponents 67-0 the past two games, and heads to Kings Park at their homecoming next Saturday a different looking team from a squad that was once winless at 0-3. East Hampton is 1-4. Heroes: QB Travis George and RB/LB Connor Coyle. George scored two touchdowns, one rushing and one off of a kick return at the start of the third quarter. CSH attackman Brendan Bouchard was recently one of four Seahawks to gain All-County Honors for the 2010 lacrosse season.
Four years ago, as a Cold Spring Harbor eighth grader, Brendan Bouchard sat in the stands of the 2006 New York State Class "C" Championship game at Stony Brook University with his father and watched his future high school beat Christian Brothers Academy. As he watched guys like Adam Ghitelman, Chris Schuville and Corey Winkoff carry Seahawks to their first-ever state championship, he knew one day, he wanted to be a part of something like that. "Sitting at that game and watching guys like Ghitelman and all the others, really put it in perspective of what lacrosse can do," he said. Everybody has a story, and once in a while you actually get a chance to tell it. Such was the case the evening of April 8 for Bill Frohlich who got to read a passage from his soon-to-be-published memoir to a small audience at the Cold Spring Harbor Library. The Wheatley Heights resident was the first act to take the stage at a monthly open mic at the library on Harbor Road. He was followed more than a dozen other acts, most of which sang their stories because open mics in general primarily attract singer/songwriters seeking exposure—though comedians, poets and writers are not unusual.
