Established in 1927, the Greenlawn Water District pumps more than 20 million gallons of water to the residents andMore businesses of Huntington, every day. The water in the three elevated storage tanks and 3,000,000 gallon underground tank is regularly tested and meets or exceeds local, state and federal guidelines. On several occasions, the Huntington water has been judged the best tasting in Suffolk County.

U.S. Rep. Steve Israel represents New York's 2nd Congressional District, including the Long Island communities ofMore Huntington, Babylon, Islip, Smithtown and Oyster Bay. He was first elected in 2000.

Among Israel's local accomplishments are securing record-level federal investments to protect the Long Island Sound; seeking to protect Long Island taxpayers by changing the federal tax code to reflect the local cost-of-living; and supporting local women's health initiatives – a priority in his role as co-chair of the House Cancer Caucus.

He lives in Huntington with his wife, Suffolk County Family Court Judge Marlene Budd, and two daughters as well as two miniature schnauzers named Max and Gracie.
