Evelyn April 16, 2014 at 11:49 am
lol, this ended well, but really i know kids that age that have climbed on chairs unlocked doors andRead More gone out.. she was in the bathroom.. bb prob opened the door, went across to the place, maybe he has been there before, and got inside thru the prize door, wow this is like a real life "Baby's day out" all these grown ups and no one saw him either cross alone and go in and into the machine!!dang
Vinnie B. April 16, 2014 at 11:54 am
Do you idiots even read the story or watch the video? ALL of the information is right at yourRead More fingertips and you STILL manage to be uninformed. You people have ZERO leverage to mock the parent in this story. Truly incredible

Heywood April 16, 2014 at 11:25 am
How can you "detonate" something that doesn't contain explosives? Was this just a case ofRead More "Panic at the disco"?
jpf2361 April 16, 2014 at 11:29 am
Heywood, The Bomb Squad uses an external explosive device to try and detonate whatever is in theRead More bag.

Susan is a Cass Sunstein plant. read his papers about entering into chat rooms and skewing theRead More conversations. nefarious stuff.
Dan Seidel April 16, 2014 at 12:02 pm
Susan is spamming. Lanning? want to look at that one?

The Electoral College still seems like some kind of anti-democratic structure. Why does it exist? IfRead More we can't just have popular voting, then distribute the Electoral votes in proportion to the popular votes each candidate received.

So, the bus driver takes the fall for all of these drunken teens? Come on, really? That's the easyRead More arrest. Like I said earlier, what about the parents who funded/provided the booze? Or, the bodegas who sold it? Easy arrest for the cops but I think they/society should dig deeper!
Gabe Gonsalves April 16, 2014 at 11:22 am
Seems to me the individual(s) who planned this fiasco should be the ones on the hook
George April 16, 2014 at 11:54 am

Unfortunately for a first time offender this is the average punishment. I would like to see a firingRead More squad myself. In Minnesota they have what is called Whiskey plates. If you get convicted of DWI you are issued new plates that start with the letter W followed by numbers. PE. W35478. So everyone knows your a drunk. So if the firing squad is to much maybe NY could do this
Meri B. Kassner April 16, 2014 at 07:10 am
First offence should be jail time. Maybe that would stop some repeat offenders. Their whole familyRead More is messed up. Ugh.

Bruce Cummings April 15, 2014 at 10:05 pm
@Kim Johnson. Not that it matters, but you have your facts wrong. President Barack Obama nominatedRead More Leonhart for the position of DEA Administrator on 2/2/2010. The issue here is people should be able to shop at a store without being followed or have the NSA track each word I am typing.
knee jerk April 15, 2014 at 10:15 pm
I'll do my shopping in either Lowe's or Wal-Mart's garden centers, at least for now, and only useRead More cash.

Mike Puglisi April 15, 2014 at 01:10 pm
It is understandable that people assumed the worst when learning about a 35 year old taking photosRead More in a school. I certainly thought someone was casing the place for a future crime when I first heard the report. BUT...if you knew James you would know that he is a perpetual man child who often posts photos of himself in the woods and other remote areas. I know this is hard to believe, but if you knew James it would make sense. I'm in no way making excuses for trespassing. He knows he screwed up, and is upset how this reflects on his character.
whodat April 15, 2014 at 04:18 pm
So unlocked & unattended doors should Be considered normal at such a facility. What a dope.Read More Security dropped the ball.

It's not about bad taste in clothing, it's about racism and hate. The flag once represented bothRead More hate and the honor of many southerners, but has long since been co-opted by the KKK and other hate groups. And racism is going full strength these days, and that flag, along with the nazi flag, is a huge symbol of that.
mike.trezza April 16, 2014 at 10:56 am
It's good to have a respectful exchange of viewpoints with thoughtful intelligent people. And I canRead More see your point, Andrew, when you compare this suspension to the one they would have gotten for fighting. Still, I refuse to believe these kids didn't know what they were doing. We can argue back and forth whether the penalty was excessive, but I really don't have a problem with St A's making an example of these kids. This is a Catholic school, and their values should be reflective of an environment of tolerance and acceptance of all races.
David Klopman April 16, 2014 at 11:25 am
LOL @ Andrew regarding bad taste in clothing. The kids were wearing a flag drapped over theirRead More clothing so it wasnt their clothing. If you are that ignorant thinking they werent making a statement then thankfully you arent related to me in any shape or form. Ignorance isnt bliss and your sugar coating this thing implying that a fight is worse than being a racist is just ignorance.

How broke are we you ask? Well we are 17trillion $ broke. Is that a lot of money? Well lets see. AllRead More single family homes combined in this country are worth about 16Trillion $. If none of us had a mortgage and everyone sold their home and gave the money to the gvmt we would still be broke. That's effin broke.

He did not have a "submachine gun", he had an ordinary pistol. (One way you can tell isRead More that there was no mention of an additional federal charge for illegally possessing one. Another way would be to Google Intertec 22, assuming you understand that a machine gun fires more than one round when you pull the trigger, and this one obviously does not.) This is just the media trying to hype up the story by inventing a machine gun where there was none. Isn't it a good enough story that some felon went nutcase with an illegally possessed stolen pistol?

A_M_O_V April 15, 2014 at 09:15 pm
The only thing Mr. Bellone and Mr. Spencer could be proud of is the pioneering aspect of this pieceRead More of legislation. Yes they are the first who sign a legislation that would become a detriment for generations, unless at some point and I hope sooner than later the law would be reversed and possibly incorporate age change for alcohol use to 18. It is about time that government officials will get advice from professionals. We are telling our kids not to drink alcohol and not to smoke at an age in which the urge to do the opposite is so high. The most difficult thing for the government to do is promote education that requires high caliber people with energy and sophistication. No one argues the danger in smoking and excessive drinking but when you make it illegal people would like it more. Focus on education and don’t spend valuable money on enforcing something that definitely won't do any good.

" Steve Florentz April 15, 2014 at 12:04 PM Sounds like a lot of you people don't mind yourRead More kids being able to buy cigarettes under the age of 21. " Since when was 21 the point that a "kid" becomes an adult?
ChudleyQ April 16, 2014 at 12:05 pm
I don't want anybody buying cigarettes. But there are a lot of addicts out there that can't stop.Read More Most of those addicts started smoking when they were under 21. By raising the age to 21 we increaae the odds for a lot of people who otherwise would start smoking.

Hey John Rithouse, if you don't like it, then don't come here for news. Guys like you make this sameRead More annoying comment every day. Are you mentally slow?
rubberband April 15, 2014 at 01:28 pm
This was out in my neck of the woods. All really great kids, college bound and starting their adultRead More lives. Having lost a child, I can say these families will mourn for as long as they live, and will have to find a "new normal" as EVERYTHING is changed for them now...I wish them strength, there is nothing quite like burying a child. Appreciated are the messages of respect and sympathy. It can be annoying to get news from areas other than your own, however the new Patch is doing things differently, and show no evidence of changing it back.....my best advice would be to ignore stories not in your area, and to write your editor directly, and share your comments with those who can make changes.

Kathleen I don't get the Massachusetts reference, having said that I think your about right.
century April 15, 2014 at 11:30 pm
Kathleen, your right. As for housing, the less number of homeless, the more grant money the city andRead More state receives for housing. It happens all the time in Pennsylvania. Free loaders like the crackheads mentioned in the story is why people who have legimate disabilities are judged as liars and have to fight for their rights.
DaveR April 16, 2014 at 10:52 am
I believe it was Gov. Dukakis that allowed the dopers and losers into the senior housing. Got toRead More love the blind faith voting mentality of Massachusetts.

Steve Israel should be ashamed of himself. Ever since he became head of the DemocraticRead More Congressional Campaign Committee, he has moved further and further left. I cannot believe this man is a suitable representative for the electorate of his district. I look forward to voting for his opponent in November.
Archie Bunker April 16, 2014 at 07:04 am
I would like to thank everyone for supporting Congressman Israel. If he is not re-elected, I willRead More lose my unemployment insurance, free health care for my family and will need to find work. By the way, does anyone know if Obamacare covers braces?

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!
