U.S. sucks.....as it should. Soccer is not an American sport.

If it wasnt for all the media hype, soccer would not even be popular. Next, we will be paying forRead More viewing soccer on our already over charged cable bill that places a surcharge on sports casting. Nice isnt it for those who have no interest in sports what so ever!

Replace "Cheer" with Marching Band...talent. difficult routines. practice a lot. Yep. IsRead More Marching Band a sport? Nope. Neither is cheerleading. Nobody is saying cheerleading is not athletic, or whatever. But that doesn't make it a sport...
Jill Longisland June 12, 2014 at 08:06 pm
Who will cheer them on? Will there be cheerleaders for the cheerleaders?
Patricia Mosier June 15, 2014 at 05:57 pm
Cheer leading is most definitely a sport. ..I didn't realize how much it was til my granddaughterRead More started it and how hard it really is.....These kids are incredible and more than just athletes!!!!

I am really disappointed in hearing rumors that St. Anthony's is a school filled with racistRead More students and staff. Nothing could be more disheartening and disturbing than to hear something so derogatory and disgraceful especially in a learning environment like a school. I only hope these rumors are untrue. Racism serves no one well in the world and can only bring misery to those that practice or condone it. It's pure hate! Anyone that raises their children to think races thoughts or spew racist comments or ideals are doing their children a disservice and such parents are irresponsible and unfit to be parents. I'll leave you all with this thought: Love and hate are like echoes, you get back what you send out. Peace and love is the only way.

Glenn..What does your comment have anything to do with this article ?? Good Job Boys! Stay safe andRead More enjoy your college years. It will and should be the best times of your life.

It has to do with the school that these students are attending. It has to do with the bad influenceRead More they may receive while attending such a school. It's too bad you don't see the big picture here or just prefer to be naive or dismissive about something so serious.

Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 07:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.
CowDung July 23, 2014 at 10:20 am
sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

I really hope Huntington wins. Lots of ex-Huntington Bulldogs on on that roster that we coached overRead More the years. However I think it's going to be a tall order to stop that kid Joe Capobianco.

The Evil Empire is back! Mwahahahahaha! We were blessed to coach a bunch of the St. Anthony's kidsRead More over the years (and also a handful of the Chaminade kids) through the Huntington Bulldogs as they grew up. On the one hand, it's a shame they all went to St. Anthony's because the local schools are much weaker (especially Whitman and Harborfields although Huntington would be much stronger too). But on the other hand they get to play at an elite level and get recognized by colleges. A giant crop of our JV kids will be moving to varsity next year so good luck and keep up the good work!
Marita Schimmel-Eybergen December 3, 2013 at 05:03 pm
The Huntington Bulldog's is the best program around. They are dedicated coaches and the players,Read More they do go onto being a better player in High school from what they learned from the Bulldogs.
