We must assume that Cody would want to help others avoid what happened to him, we must show othersRead More and teach others how a wonderful person's life can be snuffed out in one second because of drug misuse. If it is true that he passed due to the mixture of Xanax and alcohol, others should know what happened so they will not make the same mistake. To ignore and brush this aspect aside to cover up why he passed is belittling Cody's life. Too many of our children are dying from drug use, prescriptions, etc. and it has to stop. If this indeed was the cause of death as many have said (and perhaps it's not), his parents need to come forward to help others to prevent this kind of tragedy. Other parents even in our neighborhood have stepped up to the plate to speak out whose own children suffered a similar fate. In my own extended family, for example, a cousin committed suicide, and her father has been at the forefront of suicide prevention include building a bridge-rail. He has done wonders for other teens to prevent similar tragedies. We cannot keep brushing over these things thinking that they don't matter or that we're afraid of tarnishing someone's image if it in fact is true. If it happened, we should try to prevent it from happening to others. I think Cody would have wanted that, to prevent others from making the same mistake.
