Memorial Day Weekend Guide 2014
Monday is Memorial Day, a federal holiday that serves as a day of remembering those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Wreath Ceremony
Sunday 9:30 a.m. at Huntington Town Hall Huntington Veterans Plaza, 100 Main Street, Huntington. Wreaths will be placed at the World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, and Women’s Veteran Monuments and to honor our troops serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Special tribute to remember Michael J. Colamonico, World War II Ex-Prisoner of War, longtime Huntington resident and charter member of the Town’s Veterans Advisory Board. For additional information call Carol Rocco (631) 351-3012. Refreshments to follow ceremony. Mr. Colamonico passed away in December at the age of 92.

11:30 a.m. North on New York Avenue, from “Big H” Shopping Center to West Carver, West on West Carver to Green Street, North on Green Street to Main Street, East on Main Street, pass reviewing stand on Main Streetto Stewart Avenue. Hosted by Nathan Hale VFW 149
Centerport
10:30 a.m. Harrison Drive to Park Circle. Hosted by Centerport Fire Department.
Elwood-Commack
10 a.m. East on Jericho Turnpike to junction at Veterans Highway. Hosted by Post 9623 VFW.
Greenlawn
9 a.m. East Maple Road, South on Broadway to Memorial Park, Pulaski and Broadway. Hosted by Greenlawn Fire Department
Northport Village
9:30 a.m. North end of Laurel Avenue to Main Street to Harbor, Village Park. Hosted by American Legion Post #694.
East Northport
12:15 p.m. Clay Pitts and Larkfield Road, North to Pulaski Road to John Walsh Memorial Park adjacent to East Northport Library. Hosted by Knights of Columbus.
