Town Board Honors 'Divas' For Fundraising Efforts

Annalise Mozer and friends help to raise more than $5000 for diabetes research.

The Town of Huntington honored eighth-grader Annalise Mozer and friends with a proclamation for their "Diabetes Divas for the Cure" fundraising efforts to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Mozer and the Diabetes Divas from J. Taylor Finley Middle School teamed up to create a website, posters, T-shirts and songs to help promote their "2 Sweet 4 Sugar/Cure Diabetes" charitable wristbands, which helped raise more than $5,000.

"These students clearly demonstrate that one is never too young or old to make a difference in the world," said Town Board member Glenda Jackson at a Town Board meeting Nov. 9. "They serve as positive role models for others to follow."
