Fairs to Match Volunteers, Groups

South Huntington Public Library hosting fair Wednesday for National Volunteer Week.

If you're looking for ways to get involved in your community, this is the place and the time.

It's National Volunteer Week and the Long Island Volunteer Center can help match you to learn how you can help others in Huntington or elsewhere.
The center plans a fair Wednesday at the South Huntington Public Library from 5 to 8 p.m.

Numerous organizations will be represented, including Huntington Community First Aid Squad, American Airpower Museum, North Shore Holiday House, League of Women Voters of Huntington, The Whaling Museum, Family Service League, Huntington Arts Council, Heckscher Museum, Long Island Cares/Harry Chapin Food Bank, Huntington Youth Bureau, Huntington Meals on Wheels, South Huntington Against Drugs, the Town of Huntington Park Stewardship Board, Hand in Hand for Seniors, Friends of the South Huntington Library and the library's Teen Advisory Board.

A similar fair is scheduled Wednesday at Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale. About  60 nonprofit agencies are scheduled to participate.
