Decorator Tag Sale for Family Service League

Eight designers and their friends and clients donate hundreds of items to raise funds for the Huntington organization.

A chandelier that appeared in Woman's Day magazine and a mirror and pillows pictured in Traditional Home will be among the "famous finds" offered at a decorator tag sale to benefit a Huntington-based charitable organization.

The sale will take place on Saturday, June 5, on the property of Kate Singer Home, an interior design studio located at 1 Huntington Bay Road in Huntington. It will offer hundreds of gently used furniture items and accessories, including lighting, rugs and artwork, for the home and garden.

The fundraiser, now in its second year, was the brainchild of Kate Singer, the founder and owner of the design studio who was involved with organizing a similar sale for a charity in Manhattan. "I thought, why not start our own sale here?" she said, noting that she already had a relationship with Family Service League through her participation in another of their annual fundraisers.

About eight designers, as well as many of their friends and clients, have donated items for the sale. "Everyone has been so generous," Singer said, adding that the organizers are still accepting donations. "It's a great way to repurpose and reuse many items and at the same time raise money for a good cause," she said.

Founded in 1926, Family Service League assists more than 47,000 people annually through 45 community programs in more than 15 locations on Long Island.
