Job Creation Needs the Proper Climate

Jobs are not created because we wish them or speak them into fruition. Jobs are created when businesses grow, expand and need more manpower. This is simple but complicated simultaneously. Simple because work is noble and something all of mankind aspires to. Complicated because for businesses to increase their hirings many factors must align. What are some of the factors that must be in place that help to create jobs? One factor is access to capital. Much like you and I, businesses have a difficult time operating without credit. Could you live, work or run a household without even a modest amount of credit? Without a credit card, without a debit card? Of course you couldn't, well neither can businesses. Today as I write this, America's banks are having a difficult time, yet many are recording record profits. These banks must loosen up their lending and credit for the business community, especially for the small business community. Without access to capital and credit, businesses are hamstrung and growth will be modest at best. Another area that is vital for business growth and expansion which creates jobs is a pro business climate from our Government at all levels. What do I mean about this? Government has to tweak the codes, laws,and taxes that could stimulate businesses. Free Trade and Open Markets has been the mantra of many in government and business. I have always supported theses concepts, however there is one very important caveat. If America allows the rest of the world access to our markets, unfettered, our global trading partners must do the same for us ! We do not have a level playing field in the EU and in other markets because those governments protect their markets through import duties and protective quotas. America is still the most affluent country and market in the world, it is time that we start to look inward again and start to produce and create products and foodstuffs that will take care of our own people and will lead to job growth. Jobs are vital to a strong, prosperous , free nation. We have to do whatever is necessary to create the climate that will foster the innovation and entrepreneurial drive that helped to make America what it is.
