Spring is Here at Last
The procession of spring has accelerated as wedding dress whites and bridesmaid pinks of star magnolia, Bradford pears, shadbush, and cherries line the streetscape and yards around town - a full flowering of spring. The delicate mother-of-the-bride maroon and white of mature and cherries contrasts with the pastels of the parade and accents the advance of the season. The early morning rollicking of robins and whistles of cardinals and titmice add a chorus to the scene. Over in the freshwater wetrlands, spring peepers trill their ode to joy as evening settles in. The chittering of a newly arrived house wren tells me it's time to clean out and hang the nest box - spring at last is here.
