The Whitman girls basketball team sparred with the Deer Park Falcons for most of four quarters before succumbing 65-55 Thursday.
Deer Park trailed 43-42 at the start of the fourth quarter but its tenacious defense and clutch shooting enabled the Falcons to pull away.
Heroes: Deer Park's Shayna Robinson had a game-high 28 points and led the charge in the fourth quarter. Alexandra Leftridge was the high scorer for Whitman with 19.
