Whitman Draws a Crowd

Dodgeball, soccer and bullying bring students and parents to the school.

Whitman High School was a swirl of activity Saturday with a forum on bullying, a middle school football game, a soccer scrimmage and a dodgeball tournament that drew scores of parents and students.

The bullying forum, sponsored by the South Huntington School District and the PTA Council, offered workshops on internet safety, hazing, social emotional learning, body image and self-esteem, getting fit to stay safe, bullying and special needs children and other topics.

On the field, first it was Stimson football and then the TOPS soccer scrimmage, with a trophy ceremony afterward. In the north gym, students played each other in a noisy, intense series of dodgeball games.
