St. Anthony's Lacrosse Stars Named All-Americans

Five lacrosse stars have been selected to play in the sixth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic.

The same week St. Anthony’s brought home Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA championships in and also saw the Friars well represented among the 88 All-Americans named to boys and girls squads.

Defense Greg Danseglio, who signed with national champion Virginia, headlines the group. Midfielder Joe LoCascio (Maryland) and Whitman midfield (Duke) round out locals on the North squad.

The girls team features St. Anthony’s midfielder Kerrin Maurer (Duke), attack Lauren Schwalje (Georgetown) and defense Shanna Brady (Maryland). Northport’s Carol Rose will coach the North team.

The games will be played July 2 at Towson University. The girls play at 4 p.m. The boys game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
