St. Anthony’s Hockey Teams Closing in on State Titles

Friars playing in CHSHL title game Sunday at Coney Island; Club team heading to Saugerties for championship.

The St. Anthony's ice hockey team will play for the Catholic High School Hockey League Championship Sunday at Coney Island Arena against St. Joseph By The Sea. 

After a 6-1 victory Monday,  wil try to move to 22-1 on the season and clinch the series against non-league opponent, St. Joseph (2-5) from Staten Island.

The St. Anthony’s club ice hockey team will head to the New York State High School Club Hockey Tournament March 2-4 in Saugerties.

"All the players, parents, and the school are very excited to make the trip and play for a state title," said Thomas Gillen, a coach with the St. Anthony’s ice hockey organization.
