Erik Storck of Huntington will represent the U.S. in sailing when the Olympic Games begin in London next month.
Storck, and his and teamate Trevor Moore of Florida, will compete for the U.S. in the 49er.
The 27-year-old graduate and Dartmouth College All-American said his defining moment came at the ISAF Sailing World Championships in Australia in December when he qualified for the team.
"It was the culmination of a seven-week trip and we got our first podium finish in a sailing World Cup event," said Stork, according to an online biography. "We performed under pressure, beat the world champion. It just shows that hard work pays off."
Teamates for less than three years, the pair is ranked No. 12 in the world, according to NBC.
