Team Walt Whitman Wildcats raised nearly $500 for the 6th Annual Long Island Run for the Warriors in Lindenhurst earlier this month.
Coach Rory Sherman, a physical education teacher at Silas Wood, started the team. Team members include South Huntington teachers: Rob Conroy, Maria Rodriguez, Grace DiNorca, and Laura Van Tassell. Joining the teachers were students, and family and friends throughout Long Island.
Hope For The Warriors® is the sponsor of this Annual Long Island Run For The Warriors®. The race is dedicated to the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen.
