Treanor Family to Set Up Scholarships

Program to fund summer arts programs in Huntington.

The Huntington Board of Education has approved a request from Joy and Kevin Treanor to establish a scholarship fund in memory of their daughter, Harlie Treanor.

Harlie was one of three children who died in the sinking of the Kandi Won on July 4 in Oyster Bay.

"We had just moved back to Huntington in June and Harlie had started the summer arts program," wrote the Treanors in a letter to the district.
