St. Anthony's Adds Press Box

South Huntington parochial school adds new $165K press box.

Cy Donnelly Field in South Huntington now has a press box worthy of the venue.

The turf field on the grounds of St. Anthony’s High School replaced an older structure with the new 12-by-36-foot press box at a cost of $165,000, according to Director of Development Don Corrao.

It debuted in time for the historic season opener against New Jersey power Bergen Catholic on Sept. 7. The most remarkable part of it all is the new construction wasn’t even on the radar until an alumnus offered up the idea in July.

“It was through the generosity of an alum who stepped forward and asked what he could do to help the football program and St. Anthony’s,” Corrao said.

It moved from inception to design in a week’s time. The Town of Huntington stepped in to get the project approved quickly. And so a six-week construction schedule pushed the press box to completion by early September.

“It obviously provides members of the media a great view and ample space up top for cameras,” Corrao said.

It’s merely the latest upgrade on campus. The school constructed a turf baseball field and 140,000-square-foot Student Center in 2009. A chapel with an Italian alter was also added around the same time.

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
