Spring Vacation, With a Twist

Huntington district schools open Monday; S. Huntington closed all week.

Huntington schools are in session Monday while South Huntington students are enjoying a full week of vacation. But after Monday, Huntington students will have the rest of the week off, too.

Parents looking for ways to keep their kids busy this week have a few options.

The South Huntington Public Library is offering a life-size Candy Land game Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. On Thursday, youngsters in first to fourth grade can learn a few tricks to surprise friends and family on April 1. Both events are open to South Huntington cardholders.

The Town of Huntington's Spring Eggstravaganza is starts off at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heckscher Park. The event includes face painting, crafts and egg gathering. Registration closed Sunday night.

The Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium is offering extra shows for spring break. It will be open all week, Monday through Friday, in addition to the regular Saturday hours. Shows are scheduled Monday through Friday at 2, 3, and 4 p.m.
