Spatafora Honored at Golf Outing

School security boss is a popular figure in South Huntington.

Ray Spatafora was honored at the South Huntington Educational Foundation's golf outing this week.

The longtime nighttime security chief "made his rounds on his own golf cart, encouraging golfers, jokingly chastising a few, and keeping play moving along" at Crab Meadow golf course, the district said.

The annual outing is a fundraiser for SHEF, which supports programs in the South Huntington district.

Spatafora is a well-known figure around Whitman High School, dropping into conversations, monitoring drivers and greeting everyone he knows or those he doesn't.
