5 things you need to know today.

It's back to school time in Huntington this week.

As you see kids making their way to school today, here are five things you probably will not see them wearing because of dress codes enforced by Huntington and South Huntington school districts:

1. Underwear that is not covered with outer clothing.

2. Items that are vulgar, obscene, libelous or that denigrate others on account of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

3. Clothing which promotes or endorses the use of alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs or encourages other illegal or violent activities.

4. Extremely brief garments such as tube tops, net tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, plunging necklines (front and/or back) and see-through garments.

5. Footwear that is a safety hazard.
