Question of the Day: the First Day of School

What concerns you most when you send your child off to school for the first day?

The first day of school is getting closer and closer. And many parents will be sending their little ones off to class for the first time.

As a parent, what's your biggest fear for your child? Do you worry about their venturing out without you for the first time? Does the bus and the behavior of other kids concern you?  Deep down, do you worry about their ability to make friends?  Or are general safety or bullying at the top of your list?

This year, i'm worried about my older one starting Stimson Middle School because of the sheer size. I'm worried that he's going to get overwhelmed, and exhausted from the sheer size of navigating the building! We've been visiting it a lot this summer so he can get as familiar as possible.

Let go mom. Tens of thousands of children have passed thru the doors of Stimson and none have been lost. Your son is 12 years old and though you may not believe it he doesn't want mommy messing up his image.
