Blue Devils Lacrosse Game to Benefit Charity

Huntington plays Cold Spring Harbor Saturday in annual Diabetes Shootout.

This weekend's cross-town boys lacrosse battle between Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor will help in the fight against juvenile diabetes.

All proceeds raised at the event from donations and the sale of t-shirts will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, a global organization of grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents and adults with this disease. JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, according to the organization

Admission is free to the annual Diabetes Shootout which begins at 2 p.m. at . Refreshments will be sold by the Blue Devil Booster Club.

Since its founding in 1970, JDRF has awarded more than $1.6 billion to diabetes research.

The Seahawks defeated the Blue Devils in the 2010 charity game, 6-5. Huntington won last year, 9-4.
