Last Chance: Billy Joel Tribute Band, Big Shot, at Whitman

We've seen hundreds of events come and go in the community, but how often does one pass you by that you wish you hadn't missed out on? That's where we come in. Each week Huntington Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come.

On Friday, the South Huntington PTA presents Big Shot, a highly-acclaimed tribute band that exclusively plays Billy Joel music. The band features 21-year former Billy Joel band member, Tommy Byrnes, on guitar, and several other seasoned performers.

The group includes lead singer Mike DelGuidice from Long Island; saxophonist John Scarpulla who has toured with Michael Bolton, Hall & Oats, Diana Ross, Huey Lewis, Tower of Power, and was part of the All Star Horn Section for Billy Joel’s Last Play at Shea Stadium Concerts. Bassist Nick Dimichino; Keyboardist Carmine Giglio who has also performed with "Movin’ Out" and the Trans Siberian Orchestra; and drummer Mike Sorrentino, also part of the musical "Movin’ Out," and Spider Man.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m. in the for the cultural arts fundraiser. Seating is first come first serve. Suggested donations: $10 for adults, $5 for children.
