Huntington Man to Lead Syosset Schools

Dr. Ronald Friedman to take over from retiring superintendent.

A Huntington educator has been named interim superintendent of the Syosset school system, Newsday reported Tuesday night.

Dr. Ronald L. Friedman, a former Great Neck superintendent, will serve in the position until June 30, 2014. He takes over for the retiring superintendent, Dr. Carole Hankin, whose salary of more than $400,000 brought criticism from many.

Newsday said Friedman served as Great Neck superintendent from 2004-2009; he also served in the same role in Long Beach.
