Foundation to Honor Cutrone

Volunteer for Huntington High School to receive spirit award.

The Huntington Foundation for Excellence in Education will honor longtime volunteer Barbara Cutrone at its "Reach for the Stars" benefit Friday night. 

Cutrone helped restart s Booster Club and raised money to help launch numerous summer camps,  to supplement coaches' budgets and provide equipment for students in need. She also has served in several PTA officer positions.

Over the past eight years, the Huntington Foundation said, it has presented its Spirit Award to John J. Finello, Doris Quintilian, Vicki Mingin, Beverly Wayne, Lou Giani, the district’s nursing staff, Eunice Marchi and Joan Fretz.

The foundation raises money to support programs and equipment not funded through regular district appropriations.

The gala is set for Friday from 6:30-11:30 p.m. at the Woodlands estate in Woodbury.
