Family Fun Day Returns

Event helps raise funds for South Huntington educational activities.

The South Huntington Educational Foundation's Family Fun Day returns Sept. 8.

Included in the day's activities will be miniature golf, soccer, basketball, dodgeball, swimming, tennis and more. Food and drinks are also available.

Returning this year is the dunk tank, which gives participants a chance to hurl various school administrators into a tank of water. Last year's event drew gleeful students of all ages eager to dunk their principals.

SHEF supports educational efforts in the South Huntington school district. Those contributions have included underwriting the construction of a dance studio, marine science lab, and video projection system at Walt Whitman High School, providing science kits for all elementary classrooms, and purchasing STARLAB (a portable planetarium) and SmartBoards (interactive PC monitors) for use in all schools in the district.

Fun Day will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at West Hills Day Camp at Paumonek Drive off Jericho Turnpike. Tickets are $10 per person.
